This site is dedicated to the reconstruction of the Slavic folkways for those of Slavic hertiage, or those who are Slavophiles. There are many different names for the various reconstructions, but we prefer any of the following:

• Jazyk – language, speech



• Ezichestvo – heathendom, people's tradition, native religion



• Slavianstvo – way of the Slavs

Ultimately, reconstructionism is about building a long-term, viable community through the recasting of traditional cultures into a modern culture, with a common set of values, actions, and beliefs. We are not trying to return the culture of our ancestors; that's an impossibility. The world has changed too much to allow that to happen; the ecological niche they once occupied has disappeared. Instead, we take the best features of our ancestors' cultures and bring those forward into our reconstruction – adapting them to the changed requirements of existence in the modern world.

Please Note: Slavic is a linguistic and cultural indicator, not a racial or national indicator. As far as this site is concerned, a Slav is anyone who choses to speak one of the Slavic languages and/or follows the traditions, values and beliefs of one of the Slavic cultures. We denounce those who misuse our lore to promote their racist or nationalistic agendas; and deplore those who discriminate against another on the basis of age, gender, sexual orientation, geographic region of origin, race, physical ability, or mental and physical characteristics. Both misappropriation and discrimination are antithetical to the formation of a long-term, viable community and culture.
